FBiH Police Director Miletic: We have new evidence in Leutar murder case
Vecernji List, front page and pg 10 “We’ll also engage Croatia in Leutar investigation” – In an interview to the paper, FBiH Police Director Zlatko Miletic speaks about the security situation in the Federation, problems faced by FBiH Police Administration, cooperation with judicial bodies, possible terrorist threats, and new findings of the investigation into the murder of FBiH Deputy Minister of Interior Jozo Leutar in March 1999.
Speaking of the Leutar murder investigation, Miletic says: “We have recently obtained some new details on this case. In the meantime, actually several months ago, we got a new investigation order from the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo. We have already been cooperating with several prosecutors in gathering documentation which should help us solve this murder case. We are currently focusing on an international factor involved in this case and we’ll very soon request assistance from the Croatian police. I hope we’ll be able to solve the murder of the Deputy Minister of Interior in about a year. We have new suspects and witnesses, but I can’t disclose their names,” says Miletic.
Speaking of the general security situation in FBiH, Miletic says that the reports received so far from the cantonal MoIs indicate that crime is on the decrease in FBiH. “This means that we had a smaller number of reports on criminal offences in comparison to previous years. On the other hand, violation of public law and order has increased by around 20 percent. Traffic safety situation remains a continuous problem – the number of people killed and injured in traffic accidents has increased.”
Asked about the existence of any kind of terrorism in BiH, Miletic said that “generally speaking, terrorist threats do exist in BiH.”
“When we talk about the existence of terrorism in BiH, we can talk about Islamic terrorism, as well as other kinds of terrorism. Anyhow, this will be one of the key issues that FPA, but also other police agencies in BiH, will have to tackle. We have no knowledge of any direct threat of terrorism. However, I have to stress that we’re currently working on an important and comprehensive investigation and I hope we’ll soon have the results. In general, these kinds of investigations are very complicated and it’s very difficult to ensure material evidence, but I hope that the FPA will prove that it’s capable of doing that as well.”

Canton Sarajevo MoI: Drivers can check whether they were really speeding
Dnevni Avaz, pg 19 – Assistant Commander of the Canton Sarajevo Traffic Police Elvedin Muratspahic says police officers can, in some cases, misuse the radar gun.
“When a policeman pulls over a car, he is obligated to show the driver the speed registered by the radar. It was possible to manipulate data from the older models of police radar guns, but our unit has replaced them with the new ones. These new radars also produce a printout of the registered speed. Drivers are entitled to get it on the spot and compare it against the data on the radar display, thus avoiding any misunderstandings,” says Muratspahic, appealing to drivers to report any suspicion of manipulation.
Muratspahic stresses that the printout becomes part of a traffic offence report and is used in court as proof that the person has committed the offence.

These incidents are serious attacks on Islamic Community and Bosniak returnees,” said Effendi Camdzic.

The investigation into this case will be continued in cooperation with Canton Sarajevo police. Apparently, Krasnici is a drug addict whom FPA and SIPA officers tried to interview in relation to other investigations, but they failed due to his state of mind.
Zenica Prison Assistant Director Josip Pojavnik has said that they were unable to prevent Krasnici from calling NTV Hayat, because inmates are allowed to make phone calls. Krasnici is currently serving his sentence for attempted murder.

RS PM Dodik: We still haven’t been given entire 49 percent of territory
Dnevni List, front page and pg 4, Dnevni Avaz, pg 9 – RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik told Belgrade’s Vecernje Novosti yesterday that the creation of another, third, entity would not harm RS.
“We still haven’t been given the entire 49 percent of the territory entitled to us by the Dayton Peace Agreement. We’ll ask our land back. We’re not interested in hearing that “it is all Bosnia” and that “it is all ours”. Our objective is to make RS self-sustainable. Whether that will also happen to BiH is not a question for me. My goal is to make RS unquestionable so that it can function alone. We can agree on certain foreign policy issues and a military (which I think should be abolished), but everything else must be within the jurisdiction of the entities,” Dodik said.
He said that RS will not lose a single competence again and that the RS considers every issue of its jurisdiction as “more important than the EU”, adding that this will represent the basis for the process of constitutional change.
