Tuzla Police Celebrate Police Day

Tuzla, 23 May 2012 – Tuzla Canton Police marked the Police Day with the solemn session which was held yesterday in the presence of officials from the FBiH law enforcement agencies, representatives from legislative, executive and judicial authorities, as well as diplomatic core and international community representatives.
Addressing the attendees, Vice-President of FBiH Mirsad Kebo said the police made a big step forward in the previous period, but in BiH there is still a lot of work to be done on strengthening the security system. "What is typical today, in a time of great economic and political crisis, is that the greatest responsibility rests with the members of the police to respect the law in carrying out their duties, and, on the other hand, to have support in their job. Without police there is not an organized state."
Minister of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton Bego Gutić said that the police in the past year have achieved good results. "It is obvious that the personnel and organizational changes contributed to this result. Despite the very difficult economic situation, we have invested in the material technical equipment about 1.5 million marks. Of course, this is not enough. We continue with the material and technical equipping of the Ministry, raising personal standards of police officers and restoring public confidence in the police," said Minister Gutić.
On the occasion of the Police Day for special merits and contribution to the security of personal and property safety of citizens of Tuzla Canton, at the proposal of the Police Commissioner, Fadil Šljivić, Minister Gutic gave praise, honors, and awards to more than a hundred police officers.
