BiH Minister of Security Ahmetovic: No new conditions for the abolishment of visa regime for BiH
Dnevni avaz pg. 9 - BiH Minister of Security, Sadik Ahmetovic, stated that as far as he has been informed, there will be no additional conditions for the abolishment of visa regime for BiH.
“So far, the most important thing is for us is to receive a positive assessment from the European Commission (EC) Expert Teams who visited this country in order to see whether all conditions have been met. It is not up to us anymore, but to the administration in Brussels. I have some information that some of the EC Expert teams already finished their reports, which will be forwarded to the EC,” said Ahmetovic, adding that BiH delegation will soon be travelling to Brussels in order to lobby for the abolishment of the visa regime.
Director of BiH Agency for Forensic Examinations Trisic fined for violating traffic rules
Dnevni avaz pg. 6 - Director of BiH Agency for Forensic Examinations, Ljiljana Trisic, was recently fined in Tesanj Municipality for violating traffic rules. BHT, FTV, NTV Hayat, Ejup Ganic to meet his attorneys for the first time
Dnevni avaz front page and pg. 2 – Former member of RBiH Presidency, Ejup Ganic, is about to meet his attorneys today, which will be for the first time since he was arrested.
His daughter, Emina Ganic, confirmed for Dnevni avaz that the decision whether Serbia’s request of Ganic being extradited to this country is justified, will be reached this week, as well as the decision regarding Ganic’s appeal to be released from custody.
Meanwhile, Great Britain’s delegate at the European Parliament, Sarah Ludford, stated in her statement for Dnevni avaz that the fact, that Ganic hasn’t been released on bail, was a very unpleasant surprise for her.
“I deeply regret what is going on, and I hope that the whole court procedures will be completed as soon as possible. Accusations against Ganic are completely unjustified,” added Ludford.
As Nezavisne novine reported, several RS delegates at BiH Parliament will request an official information on the involvement of the counsellor of BiH Presidency member Haris Silajdzic, Damir Arnaut, into “Ganic” case, since it is, as they explained, “inadmissible that a person working as a counsellor of the Head of the State is offering his assistance to person suspected of committing war crimes.”
Arnaut, however, explained that he was supporting Ganic because “there are no elements of criminal accountability for war crimes in this case.”
While talking about the ‘Ganic’ case, BiH Chief Prosecutor, Milorad Barasin, stated for Oslobodjenje that he would not travel abroad if he were a suspect in the “Dobrovoljacka Street” case.
Barasin stated that Ganic "was aware of a certain situation” and "he shouldn’t have gone to other countries in that situation".
Barasin said that he did consider neither himself nor BiH Prosecution responsible for Ganic’s arrest in London.
"BiH started the investigation in this case before Serbia did and that’s why Ganic should be extradited to BiH", Barasin said.
Barasin also added that BiH Prosecution is still leading the investigation against several persons in case of “Dobrovoljacka Street”, adding that this case is being considered as top priority.
Press RS, however, informed that Barasin’s advice to suspects in case of “Dobrovoljacka Street”, not to travel abroad, means that “Barasin is openly protecting them, and sending them a message that they can feel safe in BiH because no one will arrest them on the territory of this country”.
Political analysts from Republika Srpska, writes Press RS, are of the opinion that Barasin should be held responsible for making such statements, considering the fact that advising of suspects makes him an accomplice.
Source from Press RS claims that Barasin behaves this way in order to demonstrate his obedience and loyalty to Sarajevo and Bosniak war staff, which currently performs the highest political duties in BiH.
Chairman of BiH Parliament’s House of Representatives, Milorad Zivkovic, stated for Glas Srpske that any kind of involvement of BiH Institutions into case ‘Ganic’ represents a dangerous precedent that might additionally complicate the political situation in BiH.
“The involvement of State level institutions into case ‘Ganic’ without the consensus of all relevant institutions in charge of offering assistance to BiH citizens, represents a case of aligning with persons suspected of committing war crimes,” said Zivkovic.
RS MoI Team for Research of War Crimes expects new indictments in “Dobrovoljacka Street” case
RTRS - RS Ministry of Interior (RS MoI) Team of for Research of War Crimes expects new indictments for the crimes committed in case of “Dobrovoljacka Street” in May 1992. New indictments are expected against Jovan Divjak, Stjepan Kljujic and other accomplices.
BiH Prosecution had four years to investigate the case of Dobrovoljacka. Now, they are bothered with parallel investigations concerning the same case, reports RTRS.
“We consider it as nonsense that other country leads the investigation in this case regardless of the existence of BiH Prosecution and BiH Court,” said the Spokesperson for BiH Prosecution, Boris Grubesic.
Serbia has prepared more than 600 pages of materials in case of “Dobrovoljacka Street”.
TC MoI police inspector found dead

Lajčák: EU conference in Sarajevo is not another ‘Dayton’
BN, Dnevni avaz front page and pg. 5, Glas Srpske pg. 2 – The conference “European Union and the Balkans” to be held in Sarajevo in June, is not a ‘Dayton 2’, but an opportunity to renew the efforts conducted by the countries of the Western Balkans in order to get closer to the European Union (EU), informed former High Representative for BiH, Miroslav Lajčák, while participating in the conference in Córdoba (Spain), during which the initiative of holding a conference about Balkans has been accepted.
“We would like to overturn the claims that there is a kind of fatigue regarding the enlargement of EU, because that is simply not the case. EU is ready to accept the countries of the Western Balkans to be part of the EU as soon as they fulfil all necessary conditions,” explained Lajčák, adding that the planed conference will not be another ‘Dayton’.
“There will be no talks about the changes of the internal constitution of BiH. The current state of BiH is bad. The stagnation is very obvious and there is no progress at all. It is clear that the conditions for the transformation of the Office of the High Representative (OHR) haven’t been fulfilled yet. There is only a minor progress reached regarding the process of the visa liberalisation,” said Lajčák.
“I would really like to point out that there is no conspiracy against BiH. We would really like to see this country making progress and moving forward. BiH is only obliged to do its part of the work, which is simply not happening,” concluded Lajčák.
Prior to this conference, as informed by Dnevni list, Spanish Presidency of the EU announced the revival of the so-called “Butmir Process” already in April, as the first meeting of BiH political leaders will be held under Spanish auspices. At the same time, Spain and Italy proposed the idea to involve other relevant partners, such as Russia, the United States and Turkey, into this new diplomatic offensive.
Although RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik claimed that the “Butmir Process” is a thing of the past, Dnevni list claims that he gave his initial approval for the international conference to be held under Spanish auspices.
