Galijasevic: There are several Wahhabi centers in RS as well
Nezavisne novine pg. 3 - Dzevad Galijasevic, member of the SEE Anti Terrorist and Organized Crime Expert Team, says that Gornja Maoca is just one out of several activities carried out freely in BiH by the Wahhabis and members of terrorist organizations, underlining that there are several Wahhabi centers in RS as well.
"Maoca is one of the operational points, but it is not the most important operational center in BiH because there are much bigger, in terms of both contents and personnel. There are Zeljezno Polje and Serici near Zenica, Mehutici near Travnik, Kamenica near Teslic and several villages near Sanski Most. There are also centers near Prnjavor and Derventa in RS, with Wahhabi communities in the process of formation,” Galijasevic said.

Majkic: Security situation in BiH – an obstacle for the liberalisation of the visa regime
Nezavisne novine column, pg. 14 – An opinion, that the recent police operation in Gornja Maoca was undertaken because of the visit of the EU experts, who are visiting this country in order to conduct a control of the conditions fulfilled for the liberalisation of the visa regime, is not groundless – claims SNSD representative at BiH Parliament, Dusanka Majkic, in her column for Nezavisne novine.
Operation ‘Light’ is an obvious attempt of the miserable picture of the security in BiH to be improved before the eyes of the international public,” writes Majkic, adding that immediately after the police units left Gornja Maoca, the residents of this village continued with their lives following the same rules as it was the case before, which “represents a huge risk for the security of this country.
Different security risks and threats towards this country were a reason why BiH Parliament’s House of Representatives refused to accept the Information on security situation in BiH in 2007 and 2008. It will be very interesting to read the Information on security situation in BiH for 2009, especially considering the fact that we have a new BiH Minister of Security, who just recently tried to hide Bosniak connections with the “brothers" (PPIO note: in colloquial language, Wahhabis call each other “brother”)  and enable their “undisturbed” work,” says Majkic.
It is an indubitable fact, that despite everything, religious fanaticism is being tolerated in BiH – the same one that has been remarked as dangerous everywhere else in the world. As long as the state does not have the control over all security aspects, our chances to achieve the liberalisation of the visa regime will remain small – regardless of the fact that all technical conditions have been fulfilled,” concluded Majkic.

>Crime cases/Incidents/law and order
Another participant in the attempted robbery of ‘Derby’ betting shop arrested, life of Amela Dzindo still in danger
BHT, FTV, NTV Hayat, BN, Dnevni avaz front page and pg. 15, Nezavisne novine front page and pgs. 8 and 9, Dnevni list front page and pgs. 18 and 19, Oslobodjenje pgs. 12 and 13, Glas Srpske pg. 16 – Members of Canton Sarajevo Ministry of Interior (CS MoI) managed to arrested Kenan Cehic (20) from Sarajevo, who was the another participant in the attempted robbery of ‘Derby’ betting shop, during which Alen Makas (17) has been murdered, while the employee Amela Dzindo suffered life-threatening injuries.
After the interrogation, Cehic will be handed over to Sarajevo Canton Prosecution for further processing.
After he was arrested in his family house in Sarajevo, Cehic admitted to the police that he and Makas intended to rob the betting shop, explaining that he was only an eye witness of the clash between Makas and Dzindo. Cehic already has a police record containing 15 committed criminal acts.
Police confirmed that Cehic and Makas stormed into the betting shop, pointing their guns at Dzindo and demanding money. Instead of giving them money, Dzindo shot Makas, after which Cehic shot her three times in the chest, abdomen, and the left knee. Dzindo is still at hospital and her condition is still life-threatening. More than 100 citizens of Sarajevo donated blood in order for her life to be saved.
During the crime scene inspection, police found two guns. Autopsy of Makas’ body has been ordered as well.
In a statement for Vecernji list, several attorneys claim that Dzindo reacted in self-defence, regardless of the fact whether or not she had a proper licence for the gun she was keeping in her handbag.
Press RS, however, claims that Dzindo borrowed the gun from her father who has a licence.

Participant in the shooting incident in Tuzla disco club “Privilege club” surrendered himself to the police
Dnevni list pg. 18, Oslobodjenje pg. 12 – After being at large for three days, Elvis Hamzic from Tuzla, who participated in the shooting incident occurred in Tuzla disco club “Privilege Club” several days ago, surrendered himself to the police.
The incident occurred after a dispute between Hamzic and Emir Kodzaga, in scope of which Hamzic fired one bullet from his gun, accidentally injuring Adnan Palic, who was sitting on the nearby table.
After the criminal processing, Hamzic was handed over to the competent prosecutor Alija Sukalic.

“Network 2010”: 500 grams ecstasy pills seized
Oslobodjenje pg. 12, Glas Srpske pg. 3 – In the scope of police operation ‘Network 2010’, members of Brcko District Police, in cooperation with the law enforcement authorities of RS Ministry of Interior, seized 500 grams ecstasy pills worth approximately 20,000 BAM if being sold on the black market.
Adisa Jasarevic (27) from Mionice settlement near Gradacac was arrested for being in possession of the pills mentioned above.
Jasarevic was handed over to Brcko District Prosecution for further processing.

Chief of delegation of the EP Ku BN, Dnevni avaz front page and pg. 5, Dnevni list pg. 10, Oslobodjenje pg. 2 – Chief of the delegation of the European Parliament, Eduard Kukan, stated that the forthcoming visit of Baroness Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the European Unionfor Foreign Affairs and Security Policyand Vice-President of the European Commission, to BiH is a proof that the European Union (EU) intends to be more focused on BiH in the future.
Ashton will send a clear message that the doors of the EU are open for BiH, as well as that we want this country to become member of EU as soon as possible,” said Kukan, adding that the Law on Referendum in RS is surely not directed towards secession of BiH.
People are not taking such threats too serious, since we all know that they are part of the pre-election campaign. I strongly believe that the secession of BiH won’t happen. I am also sure, that RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik is realistic and fully aware of the consequences a referendum might cause, as well as that neither the EU nor the neighbouring countries would support such idea,” stated Kukan.
Kukan also announced that there will be no postponement concerning the abolishment of the visa regime for BiH citizens, but only after all conditions have been fulfilled.
In his statement for Nezavisne novine, Kukan assessed that BiH has fulfilled almost all conditions, apart from few technical settings, and that he expects the visa-free regime to be introduced before 2011.
