Krimolovci

The Krimolovci hotline is a project initiated by the EU Police Mission’s press department.
Since 1 March 2004, this anonymous and toll-free hotline has provided the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the opportunity to share information about unsolved cases with the police.
Initially supported by the EU Police Mission and the government of the United Kingdom, the crime hotline was handed over to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) on 30 March 2005.
Later that year, on 5 October 2005, the EU Police Mission, with the support of the British Embassy to Bosnia and Herzegovina, launched the television show Nerijesen Slucaj. Inspired from television shows such as the German Aktenzeichen XY (which was the first show of this kind world wide) or Crimewatch, in the United Kingdom, the programme prompts citizens to share information with the police via the Krimolovci hotline.
In 2007 Krimolovci calls allowed law enforcement agencies throughout the country to submit 61 cases, involving 84 persons, to prosecutors’ offices. Most of these reports were related to unauthorised carrying of firearms, abuse of office and drugs production and dealing. In addition, 67 pieces of information were found useful for future intelligence work.
The phone number for Krimolovci is 080 020 505.
