Our Campaigns

Since its creation in 2003, the EU Police Mission has helped implement several public information campaigns and supported the TV programme Nerijesen slucaj, prompting citizens to help police solve cold cases.

“Corruption Takes Everything From You” is the sixth public information campaign the EU Police Mission has been implementing jointly with all law enforcement agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 7 December 2009.

Since 2007, BiH law enforcement agencies have been regularly carrying out a set of mini-campaigns to raise awareness about issues such as domestic violence, traffic safety, juvenile delinquency and property safety.

Not Faster Than Life

…is the single most important message of a media campaign jointly implemented by BiH police agencies and the EU Police Mission in response to the dramatic increase of traffic accidents resulting in casualties across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Usudi Se!

The European Union Police Mission, in cooperation with BiH law enforcement agencies, is currently running an Anti-Crime Campaign aspiring to wake citizens out of their lethargy and prompt them to join the fight against crime.

Under the slogan “Usudi Se!”, or “Dare!”, the campaign will challenge the image of the villain as a hero, showing citizens that if they share information with their police via the anonymous and toll-free crime stoppers or Krimolovci system even the toughest criminals will fall.

‘THINK’

In the summer of 2008, through a joint property-safety campaign called ‘Think!’, the EUPM and the BiH police teach citizens how to look at their property through a burglar’s eyes and take simple precautions to protect their house, car and other belongings. A series of humorous spots are broadcast in prime-time in order to provide citizens with tips on how to ‘trick’ burglars.

Choose Life, not Drugs

The EUPM and the BiH law enforcement agencies implemented this campaign from June to December 2006 with the aim of raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. During the campaign EUPM and local police organised a series of activities to educate young people about the hazardous effects of drugs. Simultaneously, the campaign also aimed to re-intensify the role of parents in recognising the vulnerability of their children towards drugs. The campaign was implemented in partnership with health and educational institutions, NGOs and other stakeholders.

Amongst other issues, the campaign focused on driver and pedestrian visibility, as well as on the dangers of speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.

NERIJESEN SLUCAJ

The TV show Nerijesen Slucaj (Unsolved Case) is a project initialised by the EUPM press department. Inspired from television shows such as the German Aktenzeichen XY (which was the first show of this kind world wide) or Crimewatch in the United Kingdom, the programme was first aired on 5 October 2005.

Initially funded by the UK Embassy to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the EU Police Mission, the programme aims to create a new culture of greater civic responsibility to fight crime. It prompts citizens to share information about unsolved cases with the police via the anonymous and toll-free Krimolovci crime hotline.
